I am a professionally qualified electronics engineer.
I worked on radar development with GEC / Marconi before gaining a commission in the RAF where I was a Flight Commander at their Radar School.
After leaving the RAF, I joined STC / ITT in technical sales and worked my way up to Division Manager. I then joined Philips as Managing Director of an electronics subsidiary.
I left my career for a few years to earn my living as a wood carver. It was my first venture into art / graphics and was hugely satisfying.
I returned to electronics for a few years before leaving to work in the emerging market for PCs. My graphics package 'MicroChart' led the UK market until it went the way of much UK software: swamped by US imports.
Good web design requires a mix of technical and graphic design skills. As you'll see, my career has given me both.
